Versioning

Versioning is the ability to support multiple versions of the same document so that people can see its evolution. The following questions come to mind:

Are multiple versions even supported?
How are the multiple versions stored?
- Each version in a separate file
- RCS
- SCCS
- All of the above
- Other?
How do people access previous versions?
Can people access the any of the version comments?
Can people make hypertext links to a specific version of a document?
Can two arbitrary versions of a document be compared with one another?
What HTML extensions are needed to support versioning?

What else is missing?
